The digital picnic's brand extensionMaking TDP’s social media even more diverse, accessible and fun
The Digital Picnic (TDP) is a Melbourne-based social media marketing and training agency with a big heart, bright colours and plenty of personality. They wanted to celebrate a more wonderfully diverse array of humans throughout their illustration suite, and to make their own social content as accessible as possible.
The 2-part brief
Create positive, diversity-centred illustrations to use throughout the brand for better representation. Then give TDP’s social templates a refresh with clearer, more accessible colour and text rules to make their posts more inclusive.
The Approach
We created a colourful cast of hand-drawn characters in the established TDP style, then brought that energy into a more considered social system. Alongside reusable Canva templates, we developed clear colour guidelines and template usage rules, plus custom playful hand-drawn graphics and arrows to add more quirky, versatile elements.
The outcome
A brighter, more inclusive and more accessible social media system that still feels very TDP. The team now has a larger, more diverse illustration library, reusable templates and clear guidelines to help them create colourful, accessible content without having to second-guess colour choices or legibility for their audience.

The social media accessiblity guidelines & new templates
TDP’s social media template design refresh with clearer colour and text rules have helped make their content more accessible and inclusive, with a simple system to keep things more consistent as well.
How the TDP team has succesfully been using the templates and illustrations on Instagram since the refresh
“I've been wanting this transformation for 18 months and counting and we've tried SO many times but it just wasn't delivered. I'm rejoicing completely that I now have a go-to and you GET us. It's TDP AND professional. Praise!”
— Jessie, Marketing Manager at TDP
